Are the yoga sutras relevant to us today?
It’s so easy to rush, to hustle, to take for granted and to speed through life’s precious moments. Some wonderful friends of mine are hosting this retreat to give you space to reconnect - with yourself, your body, your mind and with nature. @helenaroseyoga and @beyondasanayoga are teaming up for a nourishing yoga retreat to mark the turn in the season. Our 4 day retreat is an opportunity to unfurl after the cold winter and is a space to flourish through renewed connection to body and mind. East Afton is a beautiful 18th century Farmhouse just outside the village of Freshwater on the west of the Isle of Wight with incredible stretches of sandy beach nearby for luscious walks and splashing in the sea. Join us for four days and three nights of yoga and meditation and share in the powerful and transformative practices we hold close to our hearts. We’ll be practicing vinyasa flow, mandala, restorative yoga, nidra, pranayama and a special gong bath amongst much more nourishing goodness. The Vegan Boys will be providing delicious plant-based vegan food and there will be plenty of downtime for you to relax at the farmhouse (maybe in the roof terrace hot tub!) or explore the abundance of natural beauty nearby. What’s included? 4 days and 3 nights accommodation 6 yoga sessions over four days (90 minutes to two hours each) A mixture of energising, fiery flows with the chance to explore inversions and arm balances as well as restorative, grounding practices with guided meditation A healing Gong Bath with Steve Woodford Complimentary beauty set and pamper session led by Georgie of Tropics Pamper 3 vegan meals per day and unlimited teas and coffee (please let us know of any allergies or dietary requirements on booking) A mix of twin, shared and double bedrooms in the beautiful farmhouse A good amount of downtime to enjoy the island, the beaches, the grounds and oh, the hot tub on the roof terrace!

Sometimes I just like to sit and reflect.
Kevin’s tip of the day : When life becomes dulled or you need a little lift, find a comfy spot, take a seat, close your eyes and open the palms to the sky. Gently squeeze the thumb and index finger together to form Chin (or Jnana) Mudra. Take a few nice deep breaths and let the worries of the world melt away. Open yourself up to the universal knowledge that lies all around and inside you. Then go forth and be awesome. 📷 @helenarosecreative
