Hi! I’m Kevin S. Flee
“I’ll never forget my first yoga class. It was a Kundalini class. I huffed and I puffed and waved my arms around in the air for an hour and a half. I thought I’d joined a cult. Walking out of that studio however, was a revelation to me. Life would never be the same after that.”
With a passion for esoteric knowledge at his base, yoga found Kevin in 1996 while studying kinesiology at TWR in Johannesburg, South Africa. His journey has led him down several paths including Usui Reiki and Tantric studies but his love for the practice of Yoga has never faded.
“Yoga helps us discover who and what we are, where we are and where are going. My focus has always been on the individual’s journey through self-knowledge, self acceptance and self-love. As a microcosm of the greater universe, we have duty to take care of ourselves. Otherwise we can never be caretakers of the things we love around us.”
Kevin teaches in a Hatha style although he borrows elements from Ashtanga Vinyasa, and Kundalini. His classes will highlight the advantages of a calm and quiet mind, core strength and poses that focus on flexibility and increased range of motion. Focus will be less on the look of poses and more on the feel of them.
A graduate of YogaLondon’s YTT200 program, Kevin is constantly on the search for knowledge… and a good laugh.
“I first came to yoga through school sports. I needed to enhance my flexibility and gain more core strength, somethings that were not natural attributes of mine.
As most young men do, I went off on a bit of a tangent and only rediscovered a strong asana practice in my mid 30s. Yoga helped me through a time of life changing trauma, helping me focus on what was important here and now.
Yoga, like eating, became one of the most basic expressions of self love. Making time to be with yourself, for yourself has wonderful benefits not only for you but for the people around you too. The more you learn to support yourself and have compassion, patience and open mindedness for yourself so you will pass those qualities on to others”
